The first grade class has developed such fantastic reading habits and they celebrated a little bit this morning! Then we moved forward, to their last good reading habit on our classroom chart, "To reread, so that you can see more and more each time!" As a whole class we reread a very familiar book from kindergarten, The Kissing Hand. However, we reread it saying things like, 'Oh! Interesting! and 'Look! I did not see that before!' and 'Now I know that Chester gave his mom a kiss on her hand!' and 'I noticed this in the background!' New details were popping out that helped us understand the book in even BIGGER ways! Tonight as you read, or reread your just-right books try out this new reading habit! Refer back to your charts in your reading folders if you need to! And remember have fun!!!
