Throughout our Fall Festival Celebration we were all highly engaged and motivated! Our day consisted of spooky stories, a gooey art project, and a creepy-crawly Roll-and-Record math game! Thank you room moms for all your help and the special treats!

Think-pair-share is a collaborative learning strategy in which students work together to solve a problem or answer a question about an assigned reading. Your child has been learning and practicing this technique daily. It requires students to (1) think individually about a topic or answer to a question; and (2) share ideas with classmates. Today in writing , they discussed with a partner how they wrote beginning sounds in their personal narratives! Today we practiced our number poems by writing our numbers in handwriting! Try it out tonight at home! We did it!!! Today the kindergartners celebrated their hard work and filling the class marble jar, by having a PJ party! They wore their favorite cozy pjs and brought in a favorite stuffed animal! They're so proud of their hard work! Today for word work practice the class used the SMART board to practice recognizing the sight words we have been learning! They enjoyed picking a vehicle and parking it into the correct parking spot! Today we had a visit from Mrs. Greenwood from Morris Public Library! We listened, made predictions, and shared connections to the read aloud- Bunya the Witch! Hocus Pocus! We have been practicing our listening skills, as well as speaking in front of an audience sharing in the class "Share Chair"! We have been asking questions and making comments! We have also been learning so much about our friends! Take a look at us! Today we practiced counting numbers and recording our counting by finding the correct number. We marked our numbers with special Colorado rocks! We had a chance to practice first on the document camera! Today we used the SMART table to practice counting and recording on a 10- frame! We were SUPER counters! This week we have been learning a lot of new sight words during reading time! We have been SUPER Readers! We have been pointing to words in a book, finding sight words we have been learning, and looking at the picture to learn new words! Soon we will be taking our books home to share with you! |
