Today was Earth day! We know that each day we take care of our Earth by recycling materials, reducing waste, and reusing resources. The kindergarten class truly became more eco-conscious today by collecting trash around the JMS school and play ground! Great work class!

Today we launched our study about butterflies and their life cycle. We also explored how to raise a butterfly and will be raising a Painted Lady Butterfly. A BIG thank you to the PTO. Last Friday we had our big morning out at the Warner theater to view the play Henry and Mudge! During readers' workshop, we have been reading many of Cynthia Rylant's books. We have been discussing why it's important to ask and answer questions in a story. Today we discussed how the play was the same and different to some of the books we have read. Here's a few pictures of us at the Warner! Today's new math station- role playing out simple subtraction problems with our math partners! We had so much fun! Today we had a special guest- Miss Joy. She taught us a fun combination of breathing exercises, modified and traditional yoga postures, and a beach theme game! Students activated their listening skills and imaginations by taking a trip to the beach! They became octopuses, boats, and many more topic related poses in an action story with song! The session ended through students engaged in guided imagery- on the warm sand at the beach! Thank you Miss Joy for visiting our classroom! We had a great experience! Mrs. Wright has applied for a garden grant through Seeds Of Change for Warren, Morris, and Goshen. The grant is based on VOTES. If we work together, we can make this happen! Please go to: http://www.seedsofchangegrant.com/Gallery.aspx Just do a search for 'RSD6'. VERY fast, quick and easy to vote. Since the gardens are for the students, please vote! Vote 1X/Day until April 21! 2 gardens receive $20,000 and 10 gardens receive $10,000. |
