Yesterday, students considered their "target" audience, as well as their purpose of writing. They determined the reason we write small moments is for others to read. We worked hard during writers' workshop preparing pieces to enter into the "writing museum", focusing on our personal writing goals. We discussed what a "museum" is, the purpose of our "visit", and what our expectations are as a learner. We then entered the "writing museum" and toured! We picked up a friend's piece and began to read them. On a sticky note, we wrote for our friend one compliment and one star they could perhaps work on more! It was awesome!
