This week we moved into our forth reading unit, Meeting Characters and Learning Lessons. We started the unit discussing the importance of how we get ready for a reading adventure by making a comparison towards how we get ready for a vacation or a trip. We said how every time we open a storybook, we will meet a character who is going places and doing things. We will get to go on these same adventures and meet the same characters and be part of the story, but we need to fill our reading suitcases with all the strategies we know and leave some room for new strategies, too! It has been an exciting start and we have been loving all the adventures we have been going on!
