It has been a great start into the second week of November. The first grade class has been learning a lot about Veterans Day. During readers' workshop, they have been reading passages in their small groups, as well as asking and answering questions about the reading they have done. They also have been practicing their lowercase letters during word work time, using "house paper" and the "magic sand!"
They have also been plugging along during writers' workshop using their "craft moves!" They have been enjoying studying how Mo Willems writes to engage readers, as well as George McClements! take a look at their newest writing anchor chart and some of their writing pieces! Check back later this week to hear more about math and math workshop! We just started to learn about double facts within 10!
