Dear Parents,
Due to the snow day on Friday, we will be celebrating our 100th day of school on Tuesday, February 9th. It is a first grade tradition to celebrate it in grand style! I have many hands-on activities planned for the students to engage in on this special day. To begin the 100th day of school, I will have the students present their 100's creations to the class. Your child is to collect and count 100 items. He/she is to arrange and display the 100 items in an interesting and creative way. We are currently focusing on place value in first grade, so organizing the items in groups of 10 would may be helpful. Brainstorm different items with your child. The items may range from golf tees to barbie shoes to marshmallows- use your imaginations! If you need ideas or would like to see pictures of past 100 day of school creations, Pinterest has a ton! I hope you and your child have fun with this problem solving activity. If you have any questions please let me know! Happy 100 days, Miss Gleason

Miss GleasonWhat we're learning in first grade. Students are also making comments in class! At home add to the posts, too. Archives
